COZY UP TO SOUP
Step away from your work for a moment, and chill out. Or warm up in this case. No matter the season where you are, visualize yourself filling your ladle with your favorite soup and pouring it into a mug or bowl.
Now lean over it and slowly inhale the delicious perfume of the soup. Exhale deeply, emptying the stagnant qi and air from your lungs. Take another slow inhale of the scent of soupy goodness and exhale. Invite your muscles and nerves to relax. Picture yourself in cozy sweats, with slippers or thick socks, pushing your chair in to the table, ready to eat your soup.
INVITE ALL OF THE SENSES
Get into the sensory experience of the soup. Imagine looking at it. What do you notice? Are there vegetables, meat, chicken, or beans and rice bobbing up and down in your bowl? Can you hear it sizzling? Immerse yourself in the fragrances more fully. Imagine the taste, at its perfect temperature for you. Appreciate the texture variations. Vegetables may be chunky in comparison to the smooth broth. Maybe your soup has noodles in it or has been sprinkled with dill or Parmesan cheese. Go wild with details.
The more you can immerse yourself in your visualizations, the more you can reduce stress and feel tranquil and relaxed.
