Key 5: Reduced Clutter

Clean It Up! Clear Clutter and Simultaneously Reduce Stress

CLEAN IT UP!

Clean it up. How many times have you heard those words thus far in your life? Whether referencing your potty mouth, your desk, misguided communication, or the chocolate milk you spilled on the rug, those words are spoken often.

You know we’re spending this month together, talking about Enchanted Key #5-Reduced Clutter. The more we clean and clear, the less stressed we’ll be.

Clean It Up Tips on clearning clutter

CLEAN AND CLEAR

Once you clean it up, then you have to keep it clear and clean. If not, the Dragons will mess it all back up again. There’s a distinction here between cleaning and clearing. Cleaning refers to making something un-dirty. Clearing it is removing it from the path, or organizing it in a way that gives it a location and a purpose.

SPRING CLEANING

Most of us do spring cleaning. It’s the time of year that we open our windows and doors, after the winter, and let the warm breezes blow through. Spring is actually a time for high pollen counts and other allergens to be circulating in the air. So it may not make such perfect sense to invite all of that inside.

AUTUMN CLEANING

Autumn cleaning would make much more sense. After the spring and summer seasons, the leaves change color and the air is crisp. This would be a great time to clean and clear and then shut the doors and windows for the cooler temperatures ahead, before the leaves decompose and the wind swirls them into your garage and onto your deck. Then your house is all clean, clear, and sealed, prior to the flurry of winter holidays.

EACH SEASON CLEANING AND CLEARING

I’m proposing each season cleaning and clearing. Why not at the start of each season do a deep cleaning of your home, purging unwanted items from the previous season, and then clearing them out, along with negative energies or attitudes that may have accumulated?

ENCHANTED BREATH

Time for our midweek enchanted breath. Deep breath in. Hold. Exhale. Release tension and repeat. What can you let go of that is cluttering your physical space? That’s the focus for the next few moments as you close your eyes, continue to breathe deeply, both in and out, and release.

LET GO

What can you let go of and how would it feel to have clear and open space in its previously cluttered place?

Enchanted Breaths are the “ahh, the haha, and the aha! of life.”
