Banish Stress with Enchanted Breaths

It’s not a pretty picture.

Time to breathe.

Stop what you’re doing. Put the soles of your feet flat on the floor.

Imagine an elevator inside of your body that travels from the ground level at the bottom of your feet, all the way up to the top level at the crown of your head and back down again. No one else can get on or off.

Press the UP button and slowly inhale as you pass each floor. The taller you make your building, the more breath you will take in. Once at the top, pause for a moment, holding your breath before pressing the DOWN button. Exhale as you pass each floor until you reach the bottom. Pause and breathe normally.

Now gently tilt your head down and put chin to chest.

Rotate your shoulders up, back and down and hold them there. Breathe into the tension in your neck, shoulders and upper back until it releases.

Notice if you’ve been caught up in a frenetic rhythm that isn’t even yours.

Realign with your natural rhythm, take a few more deep and cleansing breaths as you ride the elevator up and down, and then carry on.

Enchanted Breaths are the “ahh, the haha and the aha! of life.”
