Dear Riotous Enchanted Journeyers,
Been exercising your funny bone?
I hope so.
In case you need some help, here are 10 hacks to add more humor to your life.

2. WATCH YOUTUBE VIDEOS
3. CREATE PHRASES WITH MAGNETIC WORDS
4. TELL JOKES
5. KEEP A HUMOR BOOK
6. RECORD PET ANTICS
7. CREATE A HUMOR LIBRARY
8. COLLECT COMEDY VIDEOS OR DVDS
9. GO TO A COMEDY CLUB WITH FRIENDS
10.MAKE A HUMOR BOARD ON PINTEREST

Hang a corkboard in the office, the mudroom of your home or some other well-traveled area. Announce its intention to share humor and pin up comics, humorous typos, and funny photos.

Nurses that attended one of my Enchanted Journey workshops told me that they put one up in the nurse’s station and tried to outdo each other by filling it. They said that one of the surgeons began the day with a joke to help everyone lighten their mood and refresh their spirits after the commute to work.

In the garage entrance to our home, I put up a cookie sheet that’s magnetic and holds magnetic words. We all put together phrases for the others to discover. Some X-rated ones were added by a guest one evening and provided an element of surprise when we noticed it after he had left.

When inviting guests to dinner or to a party, you can request that they bring a joke or funny story to share. It’s a great icebreaker.

Do write down the funny things that children say. You think you will remember, but you won’t. I look back in our humor book and laugh all over again as I recall those precious chuckles.

I now have a grandchild in first grade and he loves to hear funny stories about family members. Recently, when he was bouncing a tennis ball, it hit him in the groin. That was not funny but he yelled, “Ouch, I got hit in the cousins!” What? I asked where he came up with that and he said his uncle. I looked at my son who almost did a spit take. “I did not!” he protested. Our grandson reminded him of the time that they had a catch in the backyard. Our son, laughing, corrected him by saying, “What I said was that if you hit me there with the ball one more time, you won’t have any cousins.” The story was entered into the humor book that night.
